U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)
The USDA has oversight authority for the Federal Crop Insurance Program through its Risk Management Agency (RMA).

The USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) conduct hundreds of surveys and prepare reports covering virtually every facet of U.S. agriculture--prodution and supplies of food and fiber, prices paid and received by farmers, farm labor and wages, farm aspects of the industry.
